A spin off of the Ultramo research is Longshot. A super long lens combined with our super smooth pan and tilt head.
Special software and hardware is used to control the camera head.
This enables super slow slow panning and tilting at 0.3 of a degree a second. This has been tested with our own 2000mm lens and 1/3 inch chip camera.
The horizontal angle of view is 0.125 degree. A 10000mmm lens would be required for this magnification on 35mm academy format!
This is equivalent to 4000mm on broadcast TV cameras.
We have also been testing been Fujinon's High definition 2000mm lens and Canon's High definition100x lens with this system. By using HD lenses and cameras we can enlarge the frame at least 400% turning a 2000mm HD image into 8000mmm standard def image!
